Accessible Arts & Media are a local charity based in Chapelfields and are on the search for new people to join their team of Fundraising Volunteers. If you’ve ever considered volunteering but didn’t think you had the time, this could be just the role for you. Social Vision spoke to Kelly Langford to find out more….

“All it takes to make a big difference to a small charity like ours is an hour or two of your time. You could find yourself helping to run a stall, being part of a cheer squad at a challenge event or helping with a collection at a gig.

Accessible Arts & Media have been running inclusive arts and creative media learning projects in and around York since 1982. We support over 700 people each year, including disabled adults and young people, older people in residential care and people with mental ill health.

Our programmes help them develop the skills and confidence to connect with their local community and have more of a say in the things that matter to them. And everyone has a lot of fun along the way!

Volunteers are vital members of the Accessible Arts & Mediacommunity, and we couldn’t continue delivering our fantastic projects without their support. No experience is necessary to get involved, just a smiley face! You could be just the right person to whip up a cake for a bake sale or cheer the 10k runners over the finish line.

If you could spare an hour or two a year to help out please get in touch in with our Community Fundraiser, Chloe, at chloe.wood@aamedia.org.uk or give her a ring on 01904 626965.”
