York Foodbank is extremely grateful for the support of local people helping local people, ensuring that no one needs to go without food in times of hardship.

Christmas can be challenging for many at the best of times. This year, especially, they fear that many families and individuals are likely to struggle amid the festivities which Christmas and Advent bring.

If you would like to help bring a little Christmas cheer to families this year there are three things which they would please ask you to consider:

1) Earliest is best. The sooner in December they receive any Christmas donations, the more opportunity they have to share them. If at all possible they ask if you would please aim to complete any Christmas collection you may be planning by 10th December.

2) Non-food items are often most important. Laundry detergent, Washing-Up Liquid, and Toilet rolls are basic essentials which none of us can manage without.

3)If you would prefer to make a financial gift, this will help families to purchase much needed fresh and frozen items, as well as helping them to offer support services to assist families for the longer term.

If you would like to purchase donations for York Foodbank for Christmas they suggest:
-Christmas Pudding
-Christmas Cake
-Confectionary
-Selection Boxes
-Biscuits
-Savoury Snacks
-Toiletry Gift Sets (Male/Female)

They also gratefully accept donations of new toys for children and teenagers.
