Community Bees usually put on a whole host of indoor craft, social and cafe events all over the city aimed specifically at stimulating and supporting people who feel isolated and lonely.

But Covid has put a stop to that.

Not deterred, Community Bees is now offering to bring the craft and chat directly to people’s gardens, so they can still feel supported and engaged in these difficult times.

They are offering this support in three ways:

  • Garden chats
Coming directly to a person’s garden for a regular chat and a cuppa out in the fresh air.
  • Creative craft socials
Bringing over a a range of craft activities to an individual’s garden for them to get crafty with their friends, or staying with them to do the activity together.
  • Home and Garden Clean ups
Coming over to a person’s house to make their home safe and clean, decluttering and tidying, and clearing their garden where necessary, so people can manage and feel happier in their own space again.

Community Bees also host ‘The Shop that Talks’ every 2nd Tuesday of the month, at the Co-op in Haxby from 10am to 12pm.

This is an easy oppportunity for anyone to pop in and chat about things they are concerned about or just drop by and say ‘Hello’.

The Community Bees give out information and advice to support people in any way they may need, especially during these difficult and confusing Covid times.

If you are in York and are feeling isolated and overwhelmed, or you know someone who is lonely who needs support, call Michaela at Community Bees directly on 07772 107763
