Social Vision were contacted by New Harmony Project, a York-based company looking to establish an exciting C.I.C. for start-ups and local entrepreneurs. This really excited us here at Social Vision, and we continue to work with them; but in the first instance it was about building a brand that local people, of all demographics, could engage with.
My initial fear was that the current name had religious or spiritual connotations, which could immediately alienate some members of the target audience. It also didn’t really say what it did or where it was. Bringing back all my A Level Art skills (aided by my daughter’s colouring pencils!) I set about creating a brand, house style and strapline that articulated the ethos and goals of the company…and Spark:York was born!
From my rudimentary sketches, Social Vision’s in-house designer was able to transform the concept into a digital version, and offshoot tiles, portrait version and favicons for us to use across multiple platforms and scenarios. A full House Style & Branding document completed the job, and the client is now the proud owner of a pretty cool, modern brand. Here’s a few visuals:
We work with so many different organisations on branding. Some looking to update a dated logo, others looking to fully refresh their whole image. Your brand and logo says so much about you, and in any sector – from a range of designer clothing, through to a Drug & Alcohol Support Service – it should be saying “we’re trustworthy, skilled, efficient and effective – you need us”.
