The Co-Chair of Poppleton Road Out of School Club recently got in touch with Social Vision to offer a free community meeting space in Holgate. We are always happy to spread the word, here is what she had to say:

We are in the process of applying for grant funding from the Big Lottery to help develop an empty building in the grounds of the school where we operate from, to meet the needs of local families seeking childcare before and after school.

We are looking for partners who need free community space for their cause – to meet and work with people living in the area in a welcoming space.

The cost is free because our leasehold would be rent free for a defined period and then peppercorn. We are a not for profit organisation, CIO registered and therefore seek partners to help make this space community focused.

If we were successful in our grant funding, the building would have disabled access from Poppleton Road, a disabled toilet and a small kitchen for drinks or snacks.

The room could accommodate up to 20 adults and be available from 9am until 2pm weekdays and up to 5pm on a weekend.

We are working to identify a community need for such a space, that could be used by other local causes, when not in use by our club.

Please would you be able to circulate this request so that we can reach community groups and service providers who are seeking somewhere to engage with the Holgate community?
