The Welfare Benefits Unit offers specialist welfare benefits advice to those who work with members of the public.
They have two new leaflets available to help support your work with clients:
- Benefits if you are disabled and working age | April 2019 – April 2020
- Benefits for people over State Pension age | April 2019 – April 2020

The leaflets provide an overview of help available, who to contact to make a claim and organisations that can offer further information and advice.
These leaflets will be useful to clients, providing a starting point for maximising benefit take up.
The Welfare Benefits Unit also delivers an extensive training programme throughout the year consisting of their three day ‘Introduction to Benefits’ course along with a range of one day courses.
