I gave a talk recently, to the newly-established Acomb & Westfield Forum, at which I spoke about some of the challenges on our doorstep, and how enterprise and business can play a crucial role in solving them.

As a parent, I focussed much of my speech on youth-led approaches to enterprise, which included:

• providing safe spaces for young people to socialise
• raising aspirations and smashing through that glass ceiling
• empowering and entrusting young people through co-ownership
