Slap on some suncream, grab a bottle of water and get ready to explore the Fishergate area this summer with Fishergate Footprints walking trails.

Last year community groups and residents from Fishergate came together to create 9 new walking trails of Fishergate. The walks cover much loved local areas including New Walk, Danesmead Wood/Love Lane, Fenby Field and Walmgate Stray.

Varying in length, from 15 minutes to an hour long, the walks are designed to help local people enjoy all that Fishergate has to offer – wonderful open areas and some hidden away green spaces – areas rich in natural beauty and fascinating local history.

They also feature personal anecdotes about the area from long-time Fishergate residents, bringing the rich history of the neighbourhood alive.

Downloaded the trails as PDFs http://interculturalyork.org/fishergate-footprints/

Paper copies can also be picked up from points in the local community. Email contact@yumiyork.org to find out more about pick up points.
