Part of the european-wide CoopCycle federation, York Courier Collective (YCC) is a worker-owned bicycle cooperative, formed to counter the temporary, gig economy.

YCC provide a ethical, environmentally-friendly, personalised courier service to businesses and individual customers, delivering packages with care and on time, by local, friendly couriers.

Services can be same day, next day or 3-5 day time frames, suiting the needs of the organisation. And all deliveries are tracked from the moment an order is placed, through pickup ’til drop off with digital signature confirmation so organisations can feel totally reassured they do what they say.

To YCC,  you are not just another number in their system, they are dedicated to customer satisfaction at the same time as providing fair working conditions for their couriers.

YCC aim to connect York communities, especially those marginalised due to health, age and disability, and want to enable smaller businesses to access larger markets.

Owl & Monkey, a local gift and homeware shop on Heslington Road, were looking for a simple delivery solution for customers that also fitted in with their sustainable aims.

“York Courier Collective’s new service has been the ideal fit. Aaron, Alex and Matt have been able to offer a simple, fixed priced system with options for customers to select from.”

YCC are offering a free limited trial to businesses and customers.

The first two weeks of November YCC will be trialling this service for the first time together with Owl & Monkey, who are located at 16a Heslington Road, YO10 5AT.
