FUNDING: for cycling schemes in York

Welcome to Yorkshire has secured £1 million of funding for a project to create new bookable cycling holidays in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, targeting Dutch and German leisure cyclists.

As part of the initiative Welcome to Yorkshire are offering grants of up to £15,000 to support business in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in enhancing the offer and facilities for cycling visitors.

There has been a deadline extension for this grant scheme to 31st December 2018. For those projects that have already submitted by the original deadline, your applications will be reviewed as planned this week, and you will be informed of the outcome of your application by mid-December.

The grant scheme has three priority areas:

1. Increase e-bike hire availability and facilities
2. Improve cycling facilities and infrastructure
3. Enhance the signage on key cycling routes
