TransPennine Express has opened its yearly Transform Fund for grants to be made available to community groups, charities, CICs and organisations to help fund local community projects aimed at tackling youth unemployment, promoting social inclusion and/or improving the environment.
There is a total of £50k available, with each applicant able to apply for funds of up to £5k to support their project. Since the TransPennine Express rail franchise began in 2016 they have invested over £100k already, helping 24 projects spread across the North of England and Scotland with woodland developments, employability sessions and music therapy groups being just some of the projects they have supported.
Applications can be made online at https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/about-us/community/transform-grants where you can also find a scheme overview setting out the requirements for projects. As well as addressing one or more of the criteria themes, consideration is given to the sustainability of the project, the proximity to the railway and the value for money this presents.
Applications close on 21 September 2018.
