Social Vision is hosting a small networking event for local organisations and providers who are interested in being involved in our Dementia Hub at Heworth Gasworks.
FRIDAY 24TH JANUARY, 9AM – 10AM, ROUGIER HOUSE
We are looking for York-based organisations who can provide expertise and steer regarding accessibility, gaps in service provision and customer experience.
This initial event is to build a Trusted Partners list, float some early considerations, and seek your support for our application.

I recently looked at a brand new community centre in York City Centre which had been built with a 4 step threshold! I found it outrageous that a brand new building is not built fully accessible, and assumed this was due to a lack of consideration and consultation. So with our planned hub at Heworth Gasworks, in partnership with North Star, we want to make sure that those working with and supporting people in the city have their voice heard and we can create a venue that is truly accessible, not just DDA-compliant. Come and tell us what that looks like for those using your services. What’s currently missing in York? And how could you use this new venue to enhance your work?
Attendees at this event will be added to our Trusted Partners list. Once we achieve planning permission (Spring 2020) Trusted Partners will be eligible to bid for consultation work through the design stage, and also have priority use of the finished venue.
This is an exciting opportunity, with a blank canvas to build a unique purpose-built venue.
This event is strictly limited to 20 people. To register an interest, please answer a few questions (max 5 minutes) here
