South bank Studios are inviting local residents to submit artwork on the theme of ‘A Year of Change – My Bubble’ for an exhibition to be hosted at Southlands Methodist Church later in the year.

Open to people of all ages, art work must be presented in a circle (your ‘bubble’) between 12 and 21cm in diameter. Artwork should be personal to you and inspired by life in York during Covid times.

Perhaps you want to cover home schooling or working from home, maybe you want to celebrate your neighbours and the local community. Lockdown might have brought a new hobby or exercise routine for you. Or perhaps you have a view or object that sums up the year. Loss, the NHS and family and friends might inspire you too.

Whatever sums up Covid times for you, using any medium of your choice – so, for example, your artwork could be sewn, painted, drawn, collaged or adapted from a photograph. Or it could be a mix of materials. The choice is yours.

The deadline for submissions is 23rd March 2021.
