MySight York got in touch with Social Vision to ask us to let people know they are continuing their service during the COVID-19 crisis. Here’s what they had to say.

Following Government guidelines, MySight York has taken the decision to suspend all face to face services at our Merchantgate premises in order to protect our clients and staff.

Although our doors are currently closed, our team are working from home and are still available to offer support, advice and information to people with sight loss, their family and friends.

Through our Keeping in Touch project, we have a team of volunteers maintaining regular telephone contact with people living with sight loss who are particularly vulnerable or at risk of isolation.

Several of our groups will continue to meet either online or by conference call to offer one another social and practical support. Our Talking Space counselling service is also operating on a reduced basis via telephone.

If you, or someone you know, need support with any aspect of living with sight loss, please get in touch. If you would like to keep in touch with a regular friendly telephone call, please let us know and we will do our best to match you with a volunteer.

Please telephone 01904 636269

Or email hello@mysightyork.org

Please be assured that we are still here and will do everything we can to support you at this difficult time.

Thank you

The MySight York team
