York River Art Market returns to York this summer. They wrote us this guest blog to keep us up to speed with what’s happening. 

York River Art Market returns to Dame Judi Dench Walk this summer. The events founder, Charlotte Dawson, is busy preparing and spreading the word about these beautiful summer time art markets to make sure that everyone gets the opportunity to access art in the tranquil, riverside destination.

Up to 35 artists from York and beyond will gather each Saturday and exhibit their work on the railings of the Museum Gardens. Each week there will be a different set of artists and makers, so each week there will be something new and something for everyone.

These events are free of charge and everyone is welcome. Come alone, or with friends and family, we just encourage people to come and soak in the fantastic atmosphere that these events create.

This is the award-winning Art Market’s fourth consecutive year and the events continue to grow each Summer. Expect to find painters, wood turners, potters, photographers, jewellery makers even a candle stick maker and musical instrument maker this year. Whether it is hand painted, printed or sewn ….York River Art Market has it and more!

There is something for everyone’s budget. You can purchase anything from a greetings card to an original framed piece of contemporary art.

The Art Market supports a variety of charities each year. This year’s charities include The Island and York Accessible Arts and Media. And a wonderful lady who sadly lost her son is with us, with her mother, knitting to raise money for the Air Ambulance Crew that tried so incredibly hard for her son.
