Our latest Space Invaders project is on the hunt for kitchen table entrepreneurs, makers and creatives who want to sell their wares in the run up to the Christmas period.
Inspired by my travels, we’re going to create the ‘Saturday Souk’ at our Malthouse venue (9, The Crescent, York – next door to The Crescent Community Venue) and are looking for the following:
- Makers – do you make anything that you’d like to sell to the public, but can’t afford a city centre space or market stall?
- Sellers – are you a hawker? Got old vinyls or retro trainers to sell?
- Upcyclers – Are you transforming unloved items into cool, lovable things?
We will be open 9am – 5pm every Saturday during November and December. You’ll be part of York’s most creative community, and have first option on an extension into the New Year.
Your pitch will include Trestle table, electrics, marketing and promotion and communal meetings / networking. We can also offer storage during the week at no additional cost. We have a strong ethical position, and reinvest a large percentage of our profits into events and activities for children – ensuring money is never a barrier to people enjoying our spaces.
If you’re interested in joining us, we are holding open days on 1st and 3rd October (10am – 3pm). Booking is essential, contact our Project Manager at manager@spaceinvaders.org.uk
