I’ve been taking my daughter to the new PlayIT VR in Acomb since it opened in February 2019.

But it’s always struck me that many kids in Acomb, Westfield and Holgate will be missing out on this opportunity.

So we’ve teamed up with PlayIt VR to introduce accessible sessions for charities and community groups. PlayIT VR features everything from games, experiences and educational software, including virtual tours of art gallerys and landmarks, scuba diving simulators and rollercoasters.

Do you work with marginalised, vulnerable or excluded people in York? Your beneficiaries could be young people and families unable to afford a session, people with disabilities who wouldn’t otherwise get to experience VR, or perhaps people with partial sight or hearing loss? Age isn’t a factor (I can’t get enough of it!), we just want to make sure as many people as possible get to experience what’s on offer.

Each month Social Vision will select one organisation to bring 20 people to enjoy York’s only VR experience. What an awesome example of a social business!
