We are delighted to welcome Joseph Smithers to the Social Vision team. Joseph will be working two days a week as Assistant to our Director, Joe Gardham, following a successful time as a freelancer for us through 2020.

Joseph has over 5 years experience working alongside stakeholders and groups from across the academic, commercial, and voluntary sectors. He graduated with Full Colours in 2019 with a BA in Politics with International Relations from the University of York. In his spare time he coaches the University of York Kendo Team, and has represented Great Britain numerous times in both the World and European Kendo Championships.

On his appointment, Joseph said:

Being able to join the Social Vision team is an amazing opportunity to be involved in delivering major projects and creating positive outcomes, especially within the third sector. Although I have spent most of my professional career working across various sectors, I am especially excited to be able to use my knowledge and experience to directly impact and benefit an even greater number of local communities and organisations.”

Joe said:

We are currently involved in a number of major projects across the North of England – from market town remodelling to tech innovations. These all require analytical and academic thinking. Joseph brings an awesome blend of energy, intelligence and initiative, which makes him a perfect addition to our team for 2021 and into the future.”
