About our web design
Starting with a coffee, phone call, or video call, we find out what you’re looking for, what you like (and don’t like), and we co-design a brief with you. Once we’ve finished the site, we hand it over with a short online tutorial showing you how to keep your site updated. And we offer a year’s free troubleshooting should any major issues arise or you just need a little job doing. We like to work with you on your site and are fully invested in its success, so won’t just drop you once the job is finished.
We are a social enterprise. We’ve worked in the social impact sector our whole careers, so we understand your beneficiaries and capacity-restraints. Our role is to allow you to focus on doing what you do best – supporting some of the most vulnerable, isolated and marginalised individuals – not spending hours faffing round with your website. Leave that to us. We get it.
All of our sites are mobile responsive, built on open source platforms, and have literally hundreds of thousands of video and written guides to help you. Our designs are clean, and we can set up anything you need – from a basic site showing what you do, through to an online shop, directory, forum or events platform. Everything is do-able, and we work with you to find the solutions that will make your life easy.
The costs
We try to keep a relatively straightforward pricing structure, so you know where you stand. Here are some examples of costs:
5 page website that includes the following pages: Home, About, Activities/Services, Blog/News, Contact. Everything you need to get an online prescence. A great example of this is our recently completed Thrive Outside CIC website. This includes the cost of your domain name and first year’s hosting to get you started. We set everything up for you, so you just need to tell us about your organisation. Cost: £3,000
Your website is pretty old and tired, and doesn’t really represent what you do anymore. You’re not really confident to update it or make changes, and perhaps the person responsible for it has moved on, leaving you with no access. Sound like you? Social Vision can bring it into 2023 with a full refresh, adding in some basic functionality and mobile responsiveness. Cost: £2,000
If you have ambitions to run events or an online forum for example, we can design a site for you. these are a little more complicated, taking a bit more of our time, so cost a little extra. But a forum, for example, can provide a private online platform to facilitate and engage your beneficiaries, whilst an online events function takes all the legwork out of event admin. A great example of this would be the Manchester Men Speak Up website we created recently – great fun to make and so nice to see the forum being used by men in Manchester. Cost: £5,000
It’s the heartbeat of a good website, and something we’re passionate about. We can send our professional photographer to your organisation to capture what you do and tell the story of your community. This will elevate your online presence, providing you with a bank of images you can use in annual reviews etc, and really set you apart with funders and commissioners. Cost: £500
Want to build your site and forget about it? Just happy to update content, rather than delve into security, back ups, updates, hosting etc? For a small monthly fee we take care of all of that for you, making sure your site is always online and secure. Cost: £20/month
