Two new Youth Clubs have started in Tang Hall for people aged between 11 and 18 thanks to Tang Hall Big Local commissioning North Yorkshire Youth to provide positive activities for those living in the area.

The clubs are held on Wednesday evening on a weekly basis offering a range of cool activities and the opportunity to hang out with your mates and make new friends.

This is a great chance for young people to have a go at something they may not do at school or home, in a supportive environment with experienced staff. And an opportunity to ditch the screens, for a while.

Wednesdays host the younger Youth Club between 6 & 7pm at Tang Hall Community Centre, Fifth Avenue for 11-14 year olds.  Activities vary from making slime, baking, art and crafts to team and ball games.  The young people are actively encouraged to be involved in planning the activities they want to do.

A senior Youth Club, for 14-18 year olds, has just opened at St Aelred’s Community Hall on Fifth Avenue, on Wednesdays between 8-9pm.  A great opportunity for teenagers to meet up and chill with others in a safe, relaxed but welcoming environment.

As a new venture, the North Yorkshire Youth staff – Sue, Charlotte and Freya – are keen for the young people to have a say in developing the Club.  They want to hear to hear what they would like to do, what activities they would like to try out and what discussion topics they would welcome. So get in touch with them at SShooter@nyy.org.uk.

What a great opportunity to gain independence, make friends and discover new interests.
