There are some commissioning opportunities for Youth Services at City of York Council [deadline for applications: 31st July 2017], as follows:

YOUTH CLUB PROVISION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 11 TO 24 YEARS WITH DISABILITIES AND/OR ADDITIONAL NEEDS.

Project start date: 01/10/2017
Project completion date: 31/03/2019
Project objectives: For young people to access fun, enjoyable and socially empowering provision. The sessions should address the specific barriers that young people attending encounter to enable them to access social opportunities, in a safe environment and to try new things with their friends.

SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES WITH AT LEAST ONE CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF SIX YEARS OLD

Project start date: 01/10/2017
Project completion date: 31/03/2019
Project objectives: To engage families, with at least one child under the age of six years old, that may other wise be isolated. Provide support in situations such as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or where families are struggling and not facing difficulty in accessing support. The service should provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support; help to build the family’s confidence and ability to cope.

MENTORING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE 8 TO 16 YEARS OLD

Project start date: 01/10/2017
Project completion date: 31/03/2019
Project objectives: The delivery partner will provide positive mentors for young people aged 8 to 16 years old (up to the 17th birthday). We expect that a mentor will:
• Meet regularly with a child or young person.
• Supporting a young person to identify goals and targets to work towards.
• Empowering them to make their own decisions about their development.
• Support young people to access positive activities and any relevant organisations to help them progress.

SUPPORT FOR ETHNIC MINORITY FAMILIES
Likely project value: £9,000
Project start date: 01/10/2017
Project completion date: 31/03/2019
Project objectives: To support work to engage ethnic minority children, young people and families in order to:
• Reduce their isolation and ensure they have access to social and practical support.
• To provide information to families to help them develop resilience and access services where required (e.g. access of two year old funded childcare provision for eligible families)
