It’s all change at Social Vision this month, as our long-standing newsletter Editor Bec Horner leaves us to focus on her communications role at Two Ridings Community Foundation, supporting not-for-profits across North and East Yorkshire.
Bec has been an amazing advocate for hundreds of social impact organisations across the city, celebrating their achievements and highlighting inspirational people. Gregarious, funny, and deeply passionate about equality, Bec will be sorely missed.
Bec said:
I have loved championing local, social organisations and authentic people who make such a difference in our city, and sharing their stories so that people get to know what’s really happening here.
York is a complex city, a pretty tourist destination to the outside world, but there is hidden deprivation and inequality here, alongside a beating heart of volunteers, passionate workers and social leaders determined to address that and make it a better place.
Social Vision provide real solutions and an independent voice, and it’s been a pleasure to be part of that. I look forward to going to the next Connects event and finding out what’s really going on when Social Vision News lands in my inbox.
